Phonology vrs Phonetics.

Let's start by explanining briefly the difference between this two terms: Phonology and Phoneics. What is the difference?

We can make a simple difference here:

Phonetics relates to the sounds of language, while phonology studies how those sounds are put together to create meaning. Phonemes, or units of sound that are used in all languages to create words, that are the focus of the study of phonetics. Phonology studies the rules in any given language that govern how those phonemes are combined to create meaningful words. Phonetics and phonology study two different aspects of sound, but the concepts are dependent on each other in the creation of language.

Simply, phonetics are the sounds humans make at the moment of speaking or talk about something and this is related to the sound in general. Phonology gives us the rules and patters about how this sounds are needed to be place and said to create and pronounce a word properly and also that this words can be meaningful. This is not only in English words but also in other languages, like Spanish or Portuguese. This two ways of studying the sound produced by humans when speaking help us to speak better and also create an appropriate communication.
